The design approach for the campus is setting up a ''socio-cultural education zone'' within the conceptual directions defined by MEB and by highlighting ''communication''. This process of creating new Educational Campuses aims to develop the quality of the outer parts of the city both physically and spatially, generating new central points for the city. In this context, the campus design is thought of as an architecturally flexible approach, able to be built in stages, modular, environmental, economic, and sustainable; and most importantly is thought of as a ''campus which gives well-being to the users''.

Challenge

The design is an interpretation of the traditional street environment. The design aims for all buildings within the campus to have an architectural language that is easy to access and offers different opportunities to its users with its social facilities. An important element of the traditional architectural language is the construction of courtyards as gardens, which increases the quality of life and space. The structures are derived from this context which develops around the courtyards.

Solution

By focusing on the relationship of common areas of the buildings, access to daylight was provided through galleries between the floors, and the interior space setup was enriched with gardens on the ground. In parallel with the climatic data, the distances between buildings allow wind passages. Rising some buildings from the ground and arranging the facade openings with orientation will be addressed within the design.
