Description

Internship at MUUM: What was it like to do an architectural internship in an agile working environment? Experience of Elifsu.

Hello! I’m Elifsu. I graduated from Bilkent University’s Faculty of Architecture in June 2024 and started my office internship at MUUM in August.

I first came across MUUM while researching architecture firms. While browsing their website, I found the blog section featuring videos of former interns sharing their experiences. Seeing how much value they placed on interns' insights caught my attention, so I decided to learn more about the office. What stood out to me was MUUM’s commitment to working at different scales and their focus on human-centered, sustainable design, which led me to apply.

So far, I’ve had the chance to observe and be involved in different stages of projects. I’ve witnessed the concept phase, and at times, I had the opportunity to see the implementation process up close. One of MUUM’s most distinctive aspects is its strong culture of collaboration. Instead of being confined to a single project or task, interns are given the chance to contribute to various stages of multiple projects. This exposure allows for a well-rounded learning experience.

If I had to describe MUUM in three words, I would say: green, agile, and fun. My time here has been invaluable for my professional growth.
